I’ve been writing all my life. I was first published in my hometown newspaper when I was 10 years old and had written a Thanksgiving poem. That’s all it took to ignite a passion that’s still going strong. I recently stumbled across a quote that explains why I write.
“The place God calls you to is the place where your deep gladness and the world's deep hunger meet.”
Frederick Buechner
More than anything else, I want to be in the center of God’s will for my life and I believe my writing and photography are gifts my Creator wants me to use.
I’ve lived here in Southeastern Arizona with my husband for more than 30 years. I fell in love with the Southwest and its dramatic beauty, which is a constant inspiration for my fiction and non-fiction writing.
I am an award-winning journalist, editor, and photojournalist with articles and photographs published in regional newspapers and Christian magazines in Arizona and Europe. I’ve written travel columns and feature articles for secular publications. I am an award-winning public speaker and was one of Arizona’s Outstanding Young Women of America.
My first novel, “Death in the Desert,” is a contemporary suspense set in Cochise County, Arizona. Journalist Meagan Wagner thought she could find safety after September 11th in her beloved Southwest. She was wrong.
I’ve recently published the first in the Discovering the West series of historical booklets, “Tombstone … More Than a Legend.” It’s a walking tour of historic Tombstone. I’m currently working on the second booklet, “Fort Huachuca … Step Back in Time.”
Next to writing, photography is a way for me to share God’s creation and something I love.
I have three blogs: “Words from the Heart,” “The Storyteller,” and “Heart’s in Ireland.” Links are provided below. I'd love for you to stop by and browse.

Arizona
Living in the shadows of the Huachuca Mountains, I am constantly inspired by the breathtaking beauty of the high desert. But God is my ultimate source of inspiration for both my writing and my photography. I believe the Creator's creation that surrounds us brings His truth constantly before us.
Too often, people judge God by the actions of believers. If we look beyond human behavior and circumstances, God will speak to us. Usually it's in a small, still voice -- a cooling breeze, a firey sunset -- found in the beauty He has created. We just need to take the time to stop and leave our busy-ness behind. Then, in the quiet, God comes to us and speaks His words of wisdom, comfort, and peace.
